If you have a high enough reputation with this faction, you may purchase this ID to be accepted as a high-ranking member – an independent operative, overseer, and so on. Your ship will also be registered under this faction’s affiliation – for more information on affiliation tags, please scroll to the bottom of this document.
Factions tend to assign fighter patrols to such high ranking members free of charge, without the need of a Wingmen License. This deviates depending on what faction, and where, but there are always fighter patrols willing to assist near every faction base. If escort is available, you will get a communications from the wing confirming their support. For more information concerning escort wings, please reference the Wingmen License, available for purchase from the commodity trader.
Although it is not generally favored, some freelancers have been known to carry operative IDs for multiple factions.
If you desire this faction’s affiliation tag, make sure no other operative IDs are mounted – if the newly purchased ID automatically mounts, you will successfully receive the new affiliation tag.
If you do not desire this faction’s affiliation tag, make sure you have an operative ID already mounted – the newly purchased ID should be placed in the cargo hold instead, which will allow you to keep your old affiliation tag.
Please note that dropping this item into space or looting it is considered a serious offense by any faction, and you will be fired upon if caught.
